Average Americans don’t benefit from the stock market

Really? How many times have you heard and you may even believe that the stock market is the playground of the rich.

That being the case, sticking it to US corporations is of little consequence to “working Americans.”

Be careful what you wish for.

Half of all US-owned US stocks are owned within retirement funds.

That’s your 401k, 403b, IRA, etc. your pension if you are lucky, your pension, your annuity…

The more we try to segregate the elements of our economy, the more scapegoats we target, the more we harm ourselves.

  1. If I support a politician who favors increasing taxes on corporations and their officers (as I do), pray tell, how have I harmed myself? Are the values of common stocks held by my pension fund or me really dependent on supporting the gluttony and excess of CEOs?
