No Social Security COLA

The April 2020 CPI-W is 249.515.

This is below the 2019 benchmark average CPI-W for July, August and September.

If this trend continues, there will not be a 2021 COLA unless Congress take special action.

  1. No need to worry about a COLA in 2021. I just received our $2,400 stimulus payment that equals 14.85 percent of our Social Security benefit. Now my emergency fund has $7,776 and growing every month. Life is great, new 2020 Ford Edge, first car payment since 1986 and I am still able to save $1,000 per month above expenses.
