As we have been told over the centuries, the greatest threat to America will come from within. Once again we appear on the verge of such a threat. This time disguised as a better social order. Americans are being lulled into complacency and mediocrity and encouraged to ignore individual responsibility. 𗁆
Americans are being conned …and many appear to welcome it.
A con man (otherwise known as a politician) is:
“a man who cheats or tricks someone by gaining their trust and persuading them to believe something that is not true.”
“One who gains the trust, or “confidence”, of his victims (often called marks) in order to manipulate, steal from, or otherwise predate upon them.”
Six easy steps being used to con Americans:
😡 Create the drumbeat of inequality
🤬 Create highly visible scapegoats
🤨 Convince people society is unfair and rigged against them
😏 Make it easy for people to blame others and avoid responsibility
🤪 Convince people they are entitled and deserving
😁 Make appealing promises for free programs, and fairness
In the end you have a population dependent on government, and those in power at any point in time, for every social need from birth to death. Promises that future generations must struggle to keep.
If you don’t believe that, ask yourself why politicians have not dealt with the fiscal problems facing Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and in many cases state employee benefit obligations. The answer is they fear raising taxes and revealing true costs.
In the end all promises will be the problem for younger generations with fewer carrying the burden for more and more Americans.
Once in place, Americans are trapped in their dependency.
What makes Americans so susceptible to such a con?
. . . a kind of built-in desire to believe, which helps the con artist. Is that an American thing, or a human thing?
That’s a good question. On some level it’s a human thing: We all see ourselves through slightly rose-colored glasses. But “I deserve this,” or the concept of “that’s not fair, someone owes me” — that’s quite American.
