If you want to slow down the rush to repeal Obamacare call these people

For those worried about the imminent repeal of the ACA – there are a few Senators who share your point of view.
panicing manThis is not to say Obamacare doesn’t need fixing and as structured it is certainly not sustainable. However, what Republicans are on course to do is a recipe for chaos. You can’t pick and choose what you like and don’t like in such a complex law or system and expect it to work. You can’t repeal key components and expect the rest to function. It’s just nuts.

Keep in mind that the ACA is not only the marketplace subsidized insurance, the law affects Medicare, Medicaid, employer health benefit plans, prescription coverage and much more.

Fixing Obamacare, or our entire health care system for that matter, requires serious non-ideological thinking with a long-term perspective and it requires a clear understanding of each element of the system and of how Americans view health care and paying for it. So far we have had none of that … ever.

The problem is not insurance companies, competition will not solve the problem, people can’t choose when they want coverage and when they don’t and too much choice is counterproductive. And nothing can be free.

In any case, here are the Republican senators to call if you want to slow the dismantling of Obamacare before there is any well thought out viable comprehensive alternative.

Senator Bob Corker from Tennessee – (202) 224-3344

Senator Lisa Murkowski from Alaska – (202) 224-6665

Senator Rob Portman from Ohio – (202) 224-3353

Senator Susan Collins from Maine – (202) 224-2523

Senator Bill Cassidy from Louisiana – (202) 224-5824

  1. The reason ACA has problems is poor design. The reason most Republicans hate it is as you say, they were cut out of input. I know I was there lobbying and was ignored. However, what Republicans have come up with so far is not helpful and they too display a lack of understanding of the health care system and the people who use it.

  2. So now you are in the ‘political area’ of advisement? Give the GOP a chance. Everyone says ‘Trump can’t do this.’ ‘Trump can’t do that’. You can’t do this, you can’t do that. But if people work together, give input, brainstorm ideas anything is possible. Just trying to stop the process and not working together is no solution. The reason the ACA is in the downward spiral it has become, is because there was only one side (Democrats) that were allowed to give input.

For once, lets try working together, not bashing the other side!
