Observations on life

Words of wisdom from the past

If I were giving a young man advice as to how he might succeed in life, I would say to him pick out a good father and mother, [and begin life in Ohio].  – Wilbur Wright

If you were to read David McCullough’s “The Wright Brothers,” you would understand how insightful and accurate that statement is.

Frankly, I think involved, committed parents willing to put their children first in all things who encourage and support learning and good behavior along with a solid family life are keys to success and I believe the shortcomings in all the above is a primary factor in the many problems facing society today.

  1. I guess I’m on track, too – good father, good mother, born and grown to adulthood in Ohio. For me, there is also the influence of older siblings – in education, sports, everything…

  2. That is another reason we moved to Ohio.
